Wishes Come True At Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts

March 1, 2008 - Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, treated 15 children and their families to a panoramic view of Singapore’s cityscape on the world’s largest observation wheel, the iconic Singapore Flyer. They were among the first few to experience a ride on the Singapore Flyer on its first day of opening its doors to the public.

A private capsule was booked to host the 15 children who have expressed their wish to experience a ride on the Singapore Flyer through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is dedicated to granting a wish to every medically eligible child in Singapore.

“We are delighted to have the children from Make-A-Wish Foundation join us on the first public ride on board the Singapore Flyer. By fulfilling their wish to be among the first to be on board the Singapore Flyer, we hope to bring happiness and good cheer to these children. Our Associates are looking forward to creating a memorable experience for them and making them feel ‘on top of the world’”, said Kevin Croley, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts.

This effort is part of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts’ community outreach programme to devote time, energy and resources to make meaningful contributions to communities where it operates. Other community programmes undertaken by its hotels include raising funds for the Assisi Hospice in Singapore, and partnering with UNICEF to co-sponsor and co-ordinate the Youth Career Development Programme to provide training and certification for the less privileged in Thailand. Similar training programmes were implemented at Pan Pacific hotels in Bangladesh, Manila and Jakarta.

Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts was recently recognised by Condé Nast Traveller magazine as one of the 25 hotel companies demonstrating social responsibility.
